The timeless aesthetic of industrial style decor has adapted in some very interesting ways over recent years. Previously exclusive to cafes, bars and restaurants, it is now versatile to a whole range of domestic applications. It’s a great look that can easily add a timeless feature to kitchens, dining rooms and even bedrooms.
At Loftmotif, we continue to develop our lights as the industrial trend changes. We now have a range of lights that cater for different industrial styles, from modern minimalist to a more rustic look.
The challenging part is simply choosing the right light for your particular space.
Crisp with a clean minimal look – The Workshop
As one of our long-standing staples, the Workshop is a shallow shade. They are great for area lighting when you are trying to achieve a decent spread of light with a lower ceiling. The enamel black and duck egg blue shades both provide a great minimal look with the contrasting trim and the white inner. Our Workshops are well suited to kitchens and dining areas. On a side note, these enamel shades can be easily wiped clean and even put in the dishwasher.
Rustic authenticity – Raw untreated shades
Our range of raw steel shades are available in 370mm Cloche, XL 505mm Cloche and Workshop styles. When left unoiled these shades will rust up over time to create a weathered rustic look and add a high level of authenticity to spaces with a strong industrial aesthetic.
Modern – Enamel Domes
Our wide-rimmed Domes are a modern twist on the industrial style enamel shade. Available in duck egg blue and aqua, these lights are well suited to rooms with a modern setting. They are available with an adjustable lamp holder which allows the light shade to be angled if they are used for accent or task lighting.
Classic industrial – Enamel Cloche
The Cloche is another one of our staples and a real testament to mid-century industrial lighting. Being the french word for bell, these are a deeper light shades that work for a variety of commercial and residential spaces. These are available in a few different styles ranging from our 200mm Angle Cloche up to our huge 505mm XL Cloche.
